Hey there! Can you believe it's Christmas? It’s such a busy time of year, but I wanted to pause and share a few things happening in my world as we get ready for the holiday. As a mom of five, ranging from high school to elementary school, things are always full of energy and fun! This Christmas season, I wanted to be intentional while recognizing a range of ages... More About Our Family's Christmas...One thing that’s been on my heart this season is time with family—especially with my parents. I’ve noticed them aging, and it’s made me want to slow down and create special moments with them. This year, I’m using family conversation starters to help my kids really get to know their grandparents. I want them to learn more about their lives, memories, and wisdom. While some questions are silly, for the serious questions I inted to record some of their answers, so we can treasure these stories for years to come. Another change this year: a few months ago, I told my kids there’s no Santa. It’s been a big shift, but I want to focus more on the true reason for the season—the birth of Jesus and the beauty of the gospel. We’re doing this by using a Jesse tree and working on Nativity Crafts (particularly the watercolor craft) as a way to bring His story front and center. With my extended family, we’re shaking things up a bit with a twist on the classic White Elephant gift exchange. We’re playing a “Pass the Gift” Holiday Game, where instead of one gift being passed around, everyone brings a favorite item and starts with it in their lap. As the holiday left-right story unfolds, gifts will move left and right until everyone ends up with a new gift in their lap. It’s a fun way to share something we love with others! Finally, I wanted to share a couple of Christmas Eve traditions that have become staples in our home. A few years ago, I made a list of ideas (in the blog post above), and two that we’ll continue are matching PJs (because who doesn’t love a cute family photo?!) and making a birthday cake for Jesus (see also Jesus' birthday crafts.) It’s a sweet way to end the night and focus on the true meaning of Christmas. I hope these ideas inspire you to pause and enjoy these special moments with your loved ones. Whether it’s gathering around the table for deep conversations, playing a fun family game, or celebrating the birth of Jesus, it’s all about making memories that will last a lifetime. Wishing you peace, joy, and love with family and friends this Christmas season! XO - Ashley |

Hello Reader! So… we moved. Again. This is house number five in the last ten years — and I truly thought the one we just left in Virginia was going to be our forever home. But here we are — now in Florida — closer to family, stepping into a fresh start that came sooner (and more unexpectedly) than we thought. And let me just say… I forgot how intense moving is. Even though I’ve done it before, I found myself back on my own blog looking through my Moving Hacks and Tips post — and yes, it’s...
Reader - The 4th of July is almost here — a time for cookouts, sparklers, water balloons, and, most of all, remembering the incredible gift of freedom. Celebrate the 4th of July with Meaning + Memory Here are a few...
