You didn’t ask but I’m telling you anyway…

Hey Reader.

This week I’m working on some blog posts, but they’re not quite ready to hit publish on yet. Can you guess the topic?

If you've been with me awhile, you know Elf on the Shelf begins November 1st on Frugal Coupon Living. I write a new blog post daily about a new Elf idea from November 1st until December 24th. That's a lot of writing, photographing, and creating.

About Me

Anyway…One thing I love most about sending emails is getting replies and getting to know the people who read this email. Of course, that starts with you getting to know me, too.

So here are 3 really quick but fun facts about me:

  1. I am a mom of five
  2. I am a Cuban-American. Though my Spanish is terrible, I work on it daily on Duolingo. My grandmother's first cousin was Desi Arnaz.
  3. When I first graduated college, I was a 5th-grade teacher and intended to go back to work but accidentally created a blog that quickly became full-time.

The Blog

And since we mentioned the blog, here a 3 really quick facts about Frugal Coupon Living:

  1. I started a family blog about saving money in 2008 (while on maternity leave.) I shared my grocery store trips with other like-minded moms to help them save money using coupons.
  2. In 2009, I went on Dr. Phil to help a family going through bankruptcy. I was on the show to help them save money in the grocery store and the family blog turned into a blog seen all over the country and world (literally overnight!)
  3. I currently have 17,000 blog posts and I have erased 1,000s. At might height, I was at 30,000 blog posts - it's a lot of writing.

While the blog changed, I still treat the blog with its original intent - to help others. I am a creative type, not a business type, and treating it this way allows me to still enjoy my "hobby" after all these years.

Reply!

I'd love to know a quick fact about you and/or how you found me and when. I know a few of you on this email have been with me since that Dr. Phil appearance.

XO - Ashley

USELETTER | BRINGING YOU THE LATEST FROM FRUGAL COUPON LIVING. DEALS. FASHION. PRINTABLES. MORE. Hello Reader, How’s summer going so far? Some families are just kicking off the break, while others are already deep into long days, snack crumbs, sunscreen battles, and the endless question:“What are we doing today?” Wherever you are in your summer rhythm — excited, exhausted, or somewhere in between — this is your gentle reminder that it’s okay to pause, reset, and make room for what matters...

Hi Reader - Can I tell you something that might surprise you? Despite all the emails I send, all the creations I share, and all the planning tools you see on the blog… I’m not a natural planner. At all. I don’t run our summer on a color-coded schedule. What I do have — and what’s helped our family the most — is a rhythm. It’s flexible. It shifts day to day. But it gives our home a gentle flow, and it keeps us from feeling like we’re just reacting to chaos all summer long. What’s a rhythm,...
