The Rule of One Time

Hey there!

Ever notice how clutter can mess with your anxiety levels? I sure have. In fact, I find a messy house even messes with my sleep. When my personal space is all over the place, it seems like even my dreams get chaotic and my sleep is restless.

I recently stumbled upon a super cool tip on the radio that I wanted to share with you all. It's called the "rule of one time." Basically, the idea is to handle everything once. So, when you pick something up, put it back where it belongs.

This rule reminded me of a chat I had with a friend about placing dishes in my sink for later. She said, "Why handle it twice?" When you finish using a dish, pop it straight into the dishwasher, and you're done! Don't come back to the same activity later. Makes sense, right?

This rule isn't just about dishes, though. It's about everything. Like hanging your coat up when you come home instead of tossing it on a chair. Or sorting through your mail before it even enters your house. Toss the junk mail in the garbage even before you walk back through that front door. This keeps things in their place and reduces the risk of losing things.

Hope these help you tackle the clutter and bring some calm to your life! Let me know above what you think of the rule of one.
