Lent is a special season leading up to Easter, lasting 40 days (not counting Sundays). It’s a time of reflection, prayer, and drawing closer to God. Many people give something up for Lent, but it’s also a wonderful opportunity to add meaningful traditions that bring your family together and help kids understand the true story of Easter.

If you're looking for family-friendly Lent traditions, here are some great ways to make the season meaningful:

1. Share a Daily Bible Verse

Reading one verse a day that tells the Easter story is a simple way to keep Jesus at the center of Lent. You can write verses on notecards, put them in a jar, or display them on the fridge.

2. Do Acts of Kindness as a Family

Instead of giving something up, add acts of kindness! Each day, challenge your kids to do something thoughtful—write a note to a friend, donate food, or pray for someone.
