As Thanksgiving approaches, it's a great time to focus on what matters most—our faith, health, family, and friends. This year, I’ve got some fun ideas to help you bring a little extra thankfulness into your family’s Thanksgiving traditions.

Gratitude Ideas

I’m excited to share some simple, meaningful ways to make gratitude a bigger part of your family's Thanksgiving traditions. By teaching our children to practice thankfulness, we help them grow into more empathetic and appreciative individuals. These practices can also encourage a positive mindset, which can help them combat self-doubt and negative thoughts.

1. Thankful Tree: Create a Thankful Tree with leaves of gratitude. Throughout November, family members can write what they’re thankful for on each leaf and hang it on the tree—a wonderful visual reminder of all we have to be grateful for.
2. Thanksgiving Gratitude Coloring Wheel: Let kids draw or write what they’re thankful for in each section of this fun Gratitude wheel. It’s a hands-on way to get them thinking about the many things they can thank God for!
3. Acts of Kindness: Dedicate a day to giving back—whether it’s volunteering together, making care packages for neighbors, or showing kindness to others. These small acts can be a big reflection of God’s love.
4. Thanksgiving Prayer Kids Coloring Wheel: This coloring activity helps kids express their thanks to God through a simple prayer. It’s a great way to bring prayer into your family’s Thanksgiving celebration.
5. Giving Thanks Around the Table: Before the big meal, have each person at the table share something they’re thankful for. Use these Gratitude Conversation Cards to guide the discussion and reflect on God’s goodness.
