A Gentle Reset: Simple Tips

Hidey Ho Reader -

As August winds down and routines begin to shift, I just wanted to send a little encouragement your way.

Whether you’re juggling school drop-offs, managing classroom chaos, adjusting to new routines, or just trying to catch your breath—you’re doing better than you think.

If you’re craving a fresh start or just a little more order, here are a few small things that have helped me hit “reset” this time of year:

  1. Do a 10-Minute Tidy (For You, Not the House). Not your kitchen. Not the kids’ closet. Pick one small thing that’s just for you. A drawer, a purse, your email inbox. Something that makes life feel a little lighter.
  2. Create One Simple Routine You Can Stick To. Morning coffee before your phone. Five minutes of quiet time. A “no-work” hour in the evening. One easy habit can set the tone for your whole day (or week!)
  3. Remember You Don’t Have to Do Everything at Once. It’s okay if your to-do list isn’t finished. You don’t have to switch to full fall mode overnight. Take what serves you and leave the rest.

Just a reminder that you’re not alone in the chaos, and it’s totally okay to ease your way into this next season. It's a beautiful life, even in the mess!

Here’s to slower starts and fresh rhythms!

XO - Ashley

Hi friend, There’s a phrase I’ve whispered to my kids more times than I can count:“God is writing your story — He’s not finished yet.” It usually comes out in the hard moments… after a rough day at school, when a friendship feels shaky, or when one of them says, “I’m just not good at this.” And I gently remind them that just like in every good book, there are chapters — some bright, some hard — but all part of a beautiful story that God is still writing.
